The Journey

Every life is a journey.
A journey of growing. A journey of experiencing. A journey of learning. A journey towards God.

This is my journey as I experience the adventure of life.

The aventura de la vida moves. It's a journey along a path that is ever changing, bringing new vistas to view, new challenges to navigate, and new bends in the road. Our job is to learn the lessons as they come and grow more like Christ as we travel along, each step bringing us to a deeper understanding and a more intimate relationship with Him as we go through life.

My journey has had the ups and downs everyone experiences. The joys, the heartaches, the pain, the growth. Through it all, I have learned several important things.

1. God is always there. Even in shadows and in darkness as we travel through valleys, God is there.

2. God gives the strength required. He does not make it easy. But He gives us the strength we need to make it through. Grace is abundant. Grace is the strength we couldn't find on our own.

3. God loves us. Even when we're upside down and inside out, God loves us and cares for us. Always.

As you follow my journey and read my adventures, I hope you see one thing: the light of Christ shining through it all. I hope you see His fingerprints on the map, His arm carrying me through. He's leading this journey and I am following Him. Everything I do, and everything I feel, and everything I am is measured against what Christ would have me do. Simply, I am a Christ follower, and I hope my adventures lead you to recognize the adventure you have as you follow Christ. It's a wild ride! And a satisfying one.

The idea of the journey of my blog came from the classic Robert Frost poem, "The Road Not Taken".
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth.

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same.

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

And here is the idea for this blog. I am noticing more and more the path of my life. I don't know what is beyond the bend in the road. I only know where I am presently. And where I've been in the past. And I want to share it with you. I want to share the adventure I am experiencing in every day life as I endeavor to follow my Jesus. To follow His pathway. Because after all, it's not about me. It's about what God wants to do in and through me. And that's the real adventure.
